I became a therapist because I know what it feels like holding everything together — and quietly falling apart on the inside.
I’m a mom to kids ranging from toddler to preteen. A stepmom. A co-parent. An ex-wife and a wife. A hockey mom, a soccer mom, a dog mom, a sister, a half-sister, an aunt, and a daughter. My life is full of the same messy, beautiful, complicated dynamics that many of my clients are navigating — and I don’t pretend otherwise.
I know what it means to juggle too many roles and still try to show up well in all of them. I’ve learned some of my most important lessons the hard way and I chose this work because I understand deeply what it takes, and how much it matters to have someone genuinely in your corner while you figure it out yourself.
That lived experience isn’t separate from my work. It’s at the heart of it.
I believe that most of the struggles we face…in our relationships, in how we see ourselves, in the patterns we can’t seem to break…make sense when we understand where they came from. We learned to cope, to protect ourselves, to get by. And those strategies worked, until they didn’t.
My job isn’t to fix you. It’s to help you get curious about those patterns, understand what they were trying to do for you, and figure out whether they’re still serving the life you actually want to live.
I’m drawn to working with people who are tired of just surviving and are ready to stop abandoning themselves and move toward a life that feels more authentic.
My work is grounded in attachment theory and trauma-informed care — particularly the kind of pain that develops slowly, in relationships, over time. I work with both individuals and couples, and I bring the same warmth, honesty, and directness to both.
I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back and nods. I’ll ask the questions that get underneath the surface, notice things you might not have seen yet, and gently challenge the stories you’ve been telling yourself for years — not to take anything away from you, but to help you figure out which ones are still true.
At the heart of everything I do is one belief: while we are often hurt in relationships, we can also heal through them. That includes the relationship we build together in the therapy room.
While we are often hurt in relationships, we can also heal through them.
